Jaguar’s updated F-Pace has made its debut in South Africa, boasting several enhancements. The updates are not just on the exterior, but flow over to the cabin and the drivetrain. Jaguar also took the time to iron out creases on the exterior design, while also reworking the bonnet and its power bulge.
Slim all-LED quad headlights with ‘Double J’ daytime running light signatures are standard, but Pixel LED technology is optionally available. According to Jaguar, the latter option offers increased resolution and brightness. The light pattern continues around the SUV.
The new Jaguar F-Pace range is also available with the additional Black Exterior Pack that sees some elements on the vehicle finished in Gloss Black.
Drivetrain options
The new F-Pace line-up is powered by two diesel and three petrol engines. All powertrains are turbocharged and feature all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The two diesel options consist out of the D200 and D300 models. The D200 features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder mill with 147kW and 430Nm on offer, while the D300’s 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine is good for 221kW and 700Nm.
A 2.0-litre four-cylinder P250 Ingenium engine (184kW/365Nm) serves as an entry point to the petrol range, while a new 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder P400 boasts outputs of 294kW and 550Nm thanks to its mild-hybrid (MHEV) system.
A new 2.0-litre four-cylinder plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model produces a combined 297kW and 640Nm from its petrol engine and 105kW electric motor. The advanced electric motor is powered by a 17.1kWh lithium-ion battery and helps contribute to CO2 emissions from 49g/km and fuel economy from 2.2-litres/100km, and a 0-100km/h time of 5.3 seconds. When fully charged, the new PHEV is capable of up to 53km of all-electric driving. Jaguar says that Fast Charging (32kW DC) can deliver 0-80% charge in 30 minutes, while a domestic 7kW wall box can provide a charge of 0-80% in as little as one hour 40 minutes.
