Washington: The US space agency NASA has decided to artificially create an atmosphere on Mars and allow four interested people to live for a year. As part of efforts to send astronauts to Mars, Mars exploration conditions are set to prepare for future experiments.
NASA will create 1,700 square feet of research space in a building at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, according to details released Friday. This is called the Mars Dune Alpha. It is designed with the help of a 3D printer. Four people will be selected and arranged to stay in it for one year. Observe how individuals respond to the artificial climate on Earth with long-term careful care and vigilance.
The challenges facing Mars are set in this artificial environment. Resource limitations, equipment failure, and communication barriers. These include simulated spacewalks, scientific research, the use of virtual reality, robotic controls, and swap answers. The scientific information available at this time is very important. Based on this, systems are validated and solutions to problems are developed.
NASA is planning three missions according to the Crew Health and Performance Exploration analog. The first of these will start between September 1 and November 30 next year.
NASA says U.S. citizens or permanent residents interested in participating in the program can apply. Applicants with a master’s degree in STEM field in Engineering, Mathematics, or Biological, Physical or Computer Science from an accredited institution are eligible to apply. Must have completed a two-year doctoral program or medical degree at STEM. The test pilot program will also be considered. Applicants must be between 30 and 55 years of age. Must be proficient in English, physically healthy and not addicted to smoking.
Former Canadian astronaut Chris Hodfield has said that Russia previously carried out a Mars mission called Mars 500. He explained that this was a place for the common man, which was one of the reasons it did not succeed.
